MICROCON 2016, 40th National Conference of Indian Association of Medical Microbiologists (IAMM) to be held from 23rd – 27th November 2016 at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, India.
MICROCON 2016 is going to be an academic feast for all the members and delegates. It will provide an opportunity to interact with more than 1500 delegates, participate in several CMEs and gain experience in a number of workshops, all at one forum of MICROCON 2016.
The theme – ‘Microbes, Man and Machine – the way forward’ has been aptly chosen for the 40th MICROCON keeping in mind the contemporary issues and problems being faced by the microbiological society the world over. The menace created by the microbes, the repercussions faced by man and the emerging role of automated/ semi-automated machines in bridging the gaps in our knowledge is probably the most burning topic of concern today.
Being the largest National Conference of the Indian Association of Medical Microbiologists, MICROCON 2016 aims to gather the great minds in the field of microbiology from all corners of India and abroad as well as the budding young scientists together under one roof. Experts from all disciplines of medical microbiology will be sharing their knowledge and experiences in the field of epidemiology, growing concerns of today’s microbes, diagnostics, case management and drug resistance, to name a few.
The discipline of medical microbiology is experiencing a revolution like never before. While on one hand there are bugs which are becoming more resistant and difficult to treat, on the other hand there are newer better machines that hold a promise for rapid and accurate diagnosis. At such a point of time in the evolution of medical microbiology, the MICROCON 2016 will not only be an update on the prevalent practices but will also give a glimpse of what the future of microbiology holds for all of us.
The conference time in the last week of November is expected to have the most comfortable weather with a slight chill in morning and night. We promise you a feast of academic, scientific and social interactions with enough scope to take time out to enjoy the serene beauty of Chandigarh and the surroundings.
